The Japanese were virtually overwhelming against the small forces of the Philippine Islands. Though they fought well, and hard, and took many Japanese with them, there just weren't enough men to stop the advance. With a heavy heart, the president declares that all hostilities be ceased, and that the government would like to talk about surrendering. After hearing this, many weary men threw down their arms, and walked out with hands in the air, proclaiming their will to be taken as POWs. about 1,325 soldiers of the Filipino Marine Corps though, en-route from other islands, turned back, and are now hiding in the mountains, rumors are that they've convinced splinter and terrorist groups to fight with them against the Japanese, though no attacks have taken place yet.
The Vietnamese ships and planes, having heard of the surrender and secretly head back to home ports and airfields, without firing a single shot. They spread tales of how the Japanese took over swiftly, and of tactics used. Suggestions range that a meeting of the remaining members of ASEAN, under the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.
