Personality(What is your character like? How does he act? At least 2 well written paragraphs, Please.):
Giovanni is a rather happy and friendly person, and enjoys outdoor activities such as taking walks through the gardens of the Emperors Palace in Roma. He loves children, and often sees them as the best and brightest hope for the Italian Empire in the Future. He is very kind and always well meaning, often people describe him as Benevolent, And is also known as a very funny person, often bringing up irrelevant things like the latest episode of a Television Show he likes while doing an interview with a news member.
He, though, is not one to back down at all. He fought one of the greatest, if not the greatest, revolutions in European history, Leading His forces from controlling only a few states during the Italian revolution to finally winning after forcing the Communist Forces in control of the Italian government into the French boarder, and finally into surrender when the French government refused to allow the Communist forces to cross the border into France. He has lead Italy since 1995 as the Military Commander, and since 1997 as the Emperor, and does not back down when someone pressures his “Empire”. He is often called a stone wall when it comes to foreign policy, and won’t do anything that may harm his nation or his people, whom he love dearly, and who love him in return.
In addition, he is a devout Anti-Communist, and generally Anti-Left. He views that these parties lead to the destruction of Italy as a nation and forced it into a revolution it could have avoided.
Character History (What has your characters life been like? What has he/she accomplished?):
Born to a Middle-Class family in July of Nineteen Hundred and Fifty Three, the young Giovanni Entered a Europe which was slowly recovering from a World War which had reeked havoc across all of Europe and destroyed much of Italy itself. Despite its fine history, the Italian Monarchy was removed from power after the war ended and Italy Surrendered to the Allied Forces, and King Umberto the Second was exiled to Spain, never to be allowed to return to Italy again.
He was the average Italian child, going to school, coming home, doing homework, playing Football with his friends, and eating dinner before going to bed. He was an average student, by no ways was he the smartest man in Italy, but he was talented in another form, in Military Tactics. As a younger child, he’d line up sticks and pretend to have wars between the two, one side always beating the other side, the side that always won always being Italy.
As he grew up, he inherited the Family business, which happened to be a leather shoe shop located in Rome, the Capital of the Democratic Republic of Italy. He picked up the family tradition of learning how to repair the soles of the shoes, and continued on in this profession until he finally owned the shop after his parents retired. He continued to work in the shop up until 1995.
In Nineteen Hundred and Ninety Five, a dramatic day occurred in Roma when the then-president of Italy, one Oscar Luigi Scalfaro lost the presidential election against a Communist, who’s name has been lost to time. The entire Southern Half of Italy, including the Island of Sicilly erupted over the decision, viewing that the Presidential Election was rigged so that their beloved president would loose the presidential election and a communist would come into power to take away all of their rights, property, and capital.
The Revolution of Italy began on August Nineteenth, 1995 when the Communist President ordered troops to stop the Secession of southern Italian states from the Italian Republic. Troops opened fire on un-armed protestors in a large town square in Palermo, causing massive uproar throughout the entire Nation. What the communist president thought would be a simple thing to crush would be his downfall.
Giovanni, at the time, had remained in his shoe shop, and had watched every event about the riots on the news, especially because his parents, now in their 70s, lived in Palermo. When the riots turned to a full fledged “Revolution” against the Communist Government, Giovanni took action, and went south, leaving behind the family business, putting a sign on the door that said “On Vacation.”
He quickly began to orchestrate what was quickly becoming known as the “Great Revolution”, becoming the leader of it in the Italian State of Campania, which had soon after seceded to what was known as the “Empire of Sicily”, the new country formed out of the states of Sicily, Calabria, Basilicata, Apulia, and now Campania.
The revolution did not go well the first few months for the New Nation as communist forces continued to press farther and farther into the Country, almost splitting it in half as it spearheaded down through the state of Basilicata, almost separating Apulia from the rest of the nation. A great event, though, had occurred on the morning of January Nineteenth, 1996, when the Navy of the then free nation of Sardinia (It had seceded from Italy but had not joined the Empire of Sicily) broke the Blockade around the island of Sicily and helped to free the island, where food was growing scare and people were beginning to starve.
This naval victory found Sardinia joining the Sicilian Empire, and a mass defection of Communist troops throughout the nation from their bases they were defending, turning to the Revolutionaries when they realized that from then-forth great victories could be won by the revolutionaries, and that they had Giovanni(Now the leader of the Revolution) and even God on their side.
As Giovanni commanded the revolution through a massive group of tunnels throughout Italy, his Forces began to drive up the Italian Peninsula, soon causing the states of Molise and Abruzzo to defect from the communist side and onto the side of Giovanni’s revolutionary forces. With an army now reaching one million men, and equipment including Tanks, Helicopters, and Aircraft, the assault up the Peninsula began on the night of July Eleventh, 1996. It was a birthday present for the Leader of the revolutionaries. A birthday Present for Giovanni.
The great assault cumulated in the Historic Capture of Rome on the night of September First, 1996. The battle around, and for, Rome, had lasted almost three weeks, and the Communist Leader refused to leave his headquarters in the Palazzo Montecitorio. Giovanni Himself lead the final push into the building, and it is said that Giovanni was the man that delivered the fatal wound to the communist president’s head, using a powerful, Sicilian made pistol. The man’s body was hung out in front of the building with a sign hung around his neck stating “This is what happens when you rule Italy for yourself, and not for the people”, a signature was painted ‘Giovanni Facilli’ below it.
The revolution then continued onwards, and it went far more smoother for the Revolutionary forces. With the Communist Leader now dead, the Defending forces all began to collapse, many of them splitting up into smaller groups being lead by various generals. Some of these groups hastily defected to Giovanni’s side, while others continued to fight against the Revolutionaries forces.
By the Beginning of 1997, the Communist forces were on the brink of destruction, not only remaining in the states of Trentino Alto Adige and Aosta Valley. With victory near, the final destruction of the Communist forces was assured when the French Government refused to allow the Communist Forces to cross over their borders into France. With French forces keeping them from fleeing across the border, and thousands of Revolutionaries, planes flying in the air, and tanks on the ground, the Communist Forces were forced to finally surrender on August Fifth, 1997.
When the revolution ended, Giovanni assumed the position as the leader of the Government, and in a period of six months, with the help of numerous intelligent Political Advisors, drafted a Constitution for the Nation, officially re-named the Nation the “Italian Empire”, hinting to the need for the nation to expand, and established the government as a “Jingoistic Dictatorship”, Having a single, all powerful leader(Him), with a Vice-Emperor, and numerous other Leaders, including the Minister of the Economy and other positions.
Within the week the government was established as a Dictatorship, numerous European nations refused to officially recognize the Nation as a Fascistic State. This infuriated both the Government and the people, whom had fought a long and bloody revolution to get the type of government they wanted. Giovanni himself presented a speech to the European Union(Still alive at the time, having collapsed in 2010.), which included the following.
"..We're born again, and we are now the glory of Italian Kind.I send a message to the people and nations of The world, bound or free. Lift up your hearts, and open your arms to our new nation. We are nothing to fear, our nation has no goals outside of our boarder at this time. We only wish for acceptance in this world. Europe can not be so stubborn to not accept a new nation under a form of government that Europe has seen before. We are not something new, we are using a type of government Started in Europe, and this government is supported by its people. We have risen from the depths of sorrow and sacrifice and have built a nation in which we are comfortable with. We do not ask for much, what we ask for is for our nation to be recognized."
With that piece of text, eventually all of Europe, and the world, Recognized Italy and her new government. There were, though, mounting challenges in the empire, including a large national debt from the revolution and the fact that the nation did not have the industry it needed to properly pay off that debt. Numerous acts were attempted to be put into place by the year 2006, but with national debt still maintaining, Giovanni had to make a tough choice, and chose to have the Nation give a blunt Middle finger to the Rest of the world which had claims to money in the Italian Empire, And that middle finger was taken very negatively, but soon Russian Aggression in Europe and a spurt of Industry in Italy, mainly Arms Manufacturing to the rest of the world, quickly made the whole event disappear.
With the Russian invasion of Europe in the mid 2010’s, and most of Eastern Europe, and even parts of Western Europe, in ruins, the Peninsula of Italy was in a large position to gain power and wealth. The Arms Manufacturing industry in Italy was, at the time, the largest industry, with the Franco Arms Company (a Company the government controlled at the time) giving the people of Italy over 10 Million jobs, the Italian Empire now began to produce the weapons the “allies” used to fight the Russian Forces, and gained massive wealth, being able to finally pay off whatever debt the Nations of Europe still demanded back, and also making a large National Surplus, which It used to expand its Infrastructure, and the size of its military.
By the year of 2018, the Italian Empire had grown to an industrial powerhouse in Europe, and the Italian People viewed Giovanni with great likeness, Soon becoming the most loved Leader in Italian History. The Giovanni-Party, the common name for the ‘Progressive Party for the good of Italy’ was now the only allowed Party in all of Italy, and currently has over Forty Million members all across Italy. Giovanni, being the leader of this party, is always present at the Party Congresses, which occur every ten years.
Giovanni currently still remains in the position of power as the Emperor of Italy, and signs show that he is ready for his Nation, or Empire, to expand across its boarders…
