The Prime Minister looked at the people around him. He was in a huge stadium, about to make a speech that could change a lot of things. He looked to his left and saw T.V. Crews setting up and he could hear the rumbling of the audience. A man whispered something in
Mr. Redmond's ear then signaled him it was time to make the speech. He went down a hallway, though it was short seemed to go one forever. At the end of it, William checked his coat and then walked up onto the stage then onto the podium. He took out a small bundle of notes and began the speech:
"Citizens of Canada. I have asked for your attention today to discuss a ban. A ban that could cause harm, but could also cause a lot of good. I call upon the Canadian Government to follow up on a decision to ban all low quality and other of the such products from entering Canada. I understand that you see a flaw in this ban, what if those products come through another country? I again say that those products are banned and Will not enter this country. We have put up with to many "accidents" that have harmed/ and or killed Canadians for to long! To live with a fear that that baby toy may and does have dangerous chemicals in it.
Security at the border and at airports and the such will be increased by 100%. If we are to reach our goal, we must do these procedures, however stressful. With this ban, there will be some products coming through the border illegally. To counter this the Border guards will have more tools to stop this. At key checkpoints, there will be heavily armed guards and more patrols, some by helicopter for long distances.
As I have went on about the border security, I will also mention that Canada's interests in the Arctic will be better protected and achieved. We all know there are valuable resources up there, so why aren't we getting at them? There will be more Rangers up there and a special branch of military based up there starting this month. I know this all may be sudden but this is for the good for this country. Thank you".
With that, the Prime Minister walked off the stage, not without waving and leaving for his car.
