Plot: Quebec has wanted to be its own nation for a while now, having thought that the rest of Canada doesn't want anything to do with it. It wants and can be its own nation, it just needs to be freed. Currently, all Canadian Forces Personal are stationed at CFB's across Canada, This includes Quebec's.
Date: August 10th, 2019
Other Countries Involved: None
Situation So Far:
Quebec has called in Soldiers who are based in Quebec and are from Quebec, making it look like an event for the soldiers. Soon after, civilians watch as Quebec makes a defensive barriers around itself and starts moving into the Maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island). The Maritimes immediately spot this and report this to Ottawa. Ottawa attempts to contact Quebec but no one answers. The QLF (Quebec Liberation Force) begins to capture small towns and villages in New Brunswick, denying civilians to leave. Luckily for the Maritimes, the Highlanders Regiment is available. The Highlanders quickly move to the border of NS and NB and evacuate the civilians most likely in the line of fire while the Canadian Government tells the rest to take cover.
At the 11th, the QLF rushs straight to the border and engage the Highlanders. This alarms the Government and demands a ceasefire to resolve this, the Bloc says no via a telephone call in Quebec. As the day wears on, the Highlanders have not lost any ground and only a few men have been wounded, none dead. At the 12th, Highlander artillery and other support arrives and is set up, while the Highlanders start to warn the QLF that if they do not surrender, they can face being wiped out. The QLF do not respond.
Mean while in the rest of the country, most of the military is moving to surround Quebec, knowing the QLF will most likely not be able to push into Nova Scotia. The Forces make a line from Ottawa to the Hudson bay while the Navy gets some ships into the bay for support. The Government also sends troops to Nunavut in case the QLF push through there. While all this is happening, basically all men able to fight join the QLF, believing Quebec should be free.
The Prime Minister said this to the media:
I am happy to say that we (Canadian Armed Forces) have successfully surrounded Quebec and expect them to surrender by the 14th. We also are extremely impressed with the Nova Scotian Highlanders in their work of stopping the QLF, they still keep their reputation. I, the Canadian Government, ask you to not panic and to know that this issue will be over with soon. Thank you.
The Prime Minister continued to a meeting with the Minister of National Defence.

More on this:
About two weeks later, Quebec realizes it can't sustain a battle like this. The Canadian Armed forces offer a parley, which Quebec grumpily accepts. Just before this parley though, the Highlanders pushed and took hold of New Brunswick, just in case Quebec demanded that province in a soon to come parley. Canada demanded that Quebec forget the old war over Canada (in which the British won) and just move on. Quebec has replied saying it will but can't say that for it as a whole as some civilians still believe that Quebec should be its own nation. Quebec is now tearing down its defences and moving its troops back, some members of their government are being interrogated while some are already in jail.
A speech from the Prime Minister:
I am greatly relived as all of Canada (excluding Quebec) I believe that this nasty event is over. Although we have won, we cannot forget this and learn from it. I agree with some of my other officials that even though it was bloody, it was a great training exercise, even if it wasn't even close to be intended to be one. I hope that Canada can really be a whole now and that we all move on. I would also like to say this to the family's in Quebec who lost friends and loved ones, you may have fought for the wrong side but you fought for what you believed right, I just hope Canada as a whole can do that if need be. Thank you.
