Good evening my fellow Free Americans. Three days ago, I spoke with the oldest person in the American Free State. Her name was Alíchia Navgallava, a native Quechen, descended from the oldest people of this continent, the people from which we all take, at least in part, our blood. She told me of the early times when the People disappeared, without a trace and that their descendants were left to build the new world. She then told me the story of the fall of the People. How the Spaniards destroyed their civilization and killed its members. Now, we have thrown off the reigns of Spain and declared ourselves independent from US interruption that was once so prevalent. We are a free people.
Now is the time to heal the wounds of the past, the death of a culture and the near extinction of a language. We will throw off the aged chains of Spain and put in in their place pendants of Free American gold. We shall reclaim our culture, our language, and history. It was after speaking to Alíchia, that I was convinced we must defy the destructive culture of the previous oppressors. So, from this moment henceforth, the Programme for the Reinstatement of Quecha will become a leading goal of my government. Quecha will be taught in schools and all government documents will be published in Spanish and Quecha. Today, we begin the reclamation of what was lost.
It is also today, that we make known to the rest of the world, our position on their incursions of our hemisphere. It is not unknown to us, that one nation has taken ownership of many small islands, for the purpose of global domination, around the South American continent. It has also claimed ownership of part of the mainland and refused to inform us of their purposes there.
The Italian Empire, though an ally at war, must be held accountable for their infringement of South American sovereignty. They did not begin this occupation, but they continued it after their previous owners, France and England, ran the places dry of resources. I speak not in a spirit of unfriendliness, but I do question the motives of our ally. For, we are not stupid; we have planes that can see them just as they can see us. The details of their occupation are no secret. We know what is going on there and it is because of that, that I can say clearly and honestly to the Emperor, you may have your bases, we will not complain. But know, that we know.
It is with this statement of knowledge, that I declare to the world our true independence. No nation, no People's Movement will hinder the progression and eventual leadership of the American Free State. We are a free People and shall forever remain so.
