Royal Arctic Regiment - RAR
Task: To help keep Canada's claims in the Arctic safe. To provide proper security in case of a threat.
Size: 9'000 troops.
Training: Spend six months to a year in basic training (depends on role) and spends another year in training in the Arctic.
Vehicles: 400:
• 100 Bison APC's (Refitted for Arctic terrain/conditions).
• 100 LAV III (Refitted for Arctic Terrain/Conditions), 100 AVGP's (Armoured Vehicle General Purpose)(Refitted for Arctic Terrain/Conditions).
• 30 CF Black Eagle C1 Main Battle Tanks (Refitted for Arctic Terrain/Conditions).
• 50 Coyote Reconnaissance Vehicle's (Refitted for Arctic Terrain/Conditions).
• 20 Multi-Mission Effects Vehicle (Built a year after cancellation)(Refitted for Arctic terrain/Conditions).
Air Forces: Will have Air Support from local bases. Air Base could be built if needed.
• CH-146 Griffon (Refitted for Arctic Weather/Conditions).
• CH-148 Cyclone (Refitted for Arctic Weather/Conditions).
(Underlined craft are the main transport, aerial firepower, reconnaissance and aero-mobility tasks)
Artillery Support: Local Fire Bases are located through the Arctic
Notes:
•Troops are specially trained for conflicts in the Arctic regions as they are trained for other regions of the world.
•Troops will provide security and will be teamed with a company of Rangers (Inuit Military Personal) which will be used as guides and key forces if needed.
•Troops go through a two year training overall but will continue to train the rest of their career in service.
•Will be trained enough to be called one of the best Arctic Trained Forces (Don't want to brag but there aren't many others anyhow).
•Will be sent on "random" exercises and there will be conflict like simulations to keep troops ready at all times.
•Troops will go through a special course taught by Rangers to identify and live effectively with no support in Canada's Arctic.
